Downtown Chicago to Tryon Farm

Tryon Farm is located off Indiana 212 between U.S. 12 and Interstate 94 (Michigan City Exit 40B).

65 mi, 1 hour 5 mins

  • Proceed south on the Dan Ryan I-90 E/I-94 E

  • Exit onto I-90 E (Skyway E/Indiana Toll Rd) (7 mi from the Eisenhower).

  • (Note, if you do not want to take the Skyway, you can also simply stay on I-94, follow signs for Indiana. This route is 5 miles longer.)

  • Exit 21 onto I-94 E toward Detroit (29 mi)

  • Exit 40B to US-20 W/US-35 N toward Michigan City (25 mi)

  • Exit right onto IN-212 N toward U.S. 12 (1 mi - exit just past small airport)

  • Turn left onto Tryon Rd (2nd flashing yellow) (1.7 mi)

  • Cross railroad tracks and turn right into Tryon Farm (across from school) (0.7 mi)

Millennium Station to Tryon Farm

The South Shore train from downtown Chicago provides convenient access to Tryon Farm.

1 hour 45 minutes, Millenium Station to Carroll Ave Station.

  • Depart from Millenium Station at the Southwest corner of Randolph St. & Michigan Avenue.

  • Arrive at the Carroll Ave. station; the second stop in Michigan City.

The Carroll Ave. station is about 2 1/4 miles from Tryon Farm.

  • Head north on N Carroll Ave toward Rose St

  • Take the 3rd right onto Springland Ave (0.2 mi)

  • Take the 3rd left onto S Karwick Rd (0.7 mi)

  • Take the 2nd right onto Tryon Rd (0.5 mi)

  • Tryon Farm will be on the left (0.8 mi)
